 The Inter-Civilizational Youth Engagement Program (IYEP) evolved from the Young Leader’s Program (YLP) which began in 2002 “to develop a deeper understanding of global challenges and how youths can contribute toward the creation of a just world” and “to foster a closer relationship among Malaysian youths from different religious and cultural backgrounds.” However, following the tremendous success of the previous YLP programs, it was decided that the project be brought to the global level and in 2007, this vision was materialized with the first IYEP on “Building a Universal Civilization of Peace.” |
