The International Movement for a Just World has great pleasure in announcing that two more leading intellectuals have joined its IAP. They are Prof. Joseph A. Camilleri, Professor of International Relations at La Trobe University, in Melbourne and Dr. Farhan Nizami, the Founder Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) in Britain. Prof. Camilleri is the author and editor of a number of well known works in international relations, the international political economy and regional and global security. He is also actively involved in human rights issues and in inter-cultural dialogues both in Australia and abroad. Camilleri is also the President of Pax Christi Australia, the International Christian Peace Movement. Besides his position as the Director of OCIS, Dr. Farhan is the Prince of Wales Fellow in the Study of the Islamic World at Magdalen College, Oxford. He is a member of the faculty of Modern History and Oriental Studies at Oxford University and Editor of the Journal of Islamic Studies. Camilleri and Farhan bring the total number of JUST's International Advisory Panel to twenty-two. Some of the other distinguished panelists include Mrs. Mairead Maguire, the Peace Laureate from Northern Ireland; Professor Emeritus Richard Falk, previously of Princeton University; Prof. Ali Mazrui of State University of New York Binghamton; Prof. Tu Wei Ming of Harvard University; and Prof. Noam Chomsky of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As IAP members, Camilleri and Farhan will provide advice and guidance to the JUST leadership as it articulates ideas and formulates programmes aimed at developing the intellectual and moral basis of a just world. |
